In order to encourage children to participate in healthy activities and effectively use their time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth Union coordinated with the Healthy cities for Adolescents project (UNICEF Vietnam) to organize the video contest “Da Nang Children – Happy Creativity Time, Useful Skills Learning”. Submission period was from September 5 to October 25, 2021, and the awards are expected to be announced in November 2021.
“Da Nang Children – Happy Creativity Time, Useful Skills Learning” is an interesting online contest for students aged between 6 and 15 years old in the city. Contestants can participate individually or in groups, and there is no limit to the number of participants or registrations. As schools are closed due to COVID-19, staying at home for a long time has partly affected both mental and physical health of children. Therefore, this event was designed as a healthy playground for children to communicate, exercise, improve their social skills, and apply creatively scientific knowledge to their daily lives.
“Useful Skills Learning”
This contest round is for photo or 5-min video entries showing images of the contestant and their family participating in activities such as planting trees or cleaning their house for disease prevention; playing a sport; or preparing school supplies for a new school year. Each entry would go along with messages of maximum 50 words that the student wants to convey, and was posted directly on their fanpage with the hashtag #thieunhithanhphorenkynang.

The Organizers will award to candidates whose entries are highly appreciated based on two criteria, namely the Organizers’ assessments and the entries’ engagement rate calculated by interactions and reaches on the Da Nang Children’s community page.
