My Street, My Life
In 2021, the HCA program is launching the “My Street” Campaign to capture young people’s observations, experiences and perspectives as they lived through lock downs, social distancing, online schooling, and no play during the pandemic in 2020. Our virtual microphone will visit different urban environments and capture young people’s voices, asking them how their street changed and city transformed during Covid-19, and in some cases how their city did not change and a street remained the same. A lack of change, due to an absence of city regulation or insufficient community adherence to safety protocols, impacted wellbeing in different but equally notable ways.
An 11th Grader and Her International Learning Journey
Vo Van Nguyen, an 11th grade female student from Phan Chau Trinh High School in Da Nang City, recently took part in the World Cities Day Webinar with adolescents from five other countries around the world on Oct 31. Vo Nguyen Dinh Tri, a second-year student at FPT University in Da Nang, recently returned from an event hosted by the Ministry of Education and Training to honor the top 15 educational innovations as part of the “Young Intellectuals for Education” program. He had a fantastic presentation to the jury on his newly developed product aimed to improve online teaching in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A World Where Children Speak their Mind
Cu Khanh Linh, an 11-year-old student at Duc Tri secondary school, is always full of ideas and energy. She was the master of ceremonies at the youth consultation event organized by UNICEF and Da Nang Youth Union on COVID-19 impacts in late October this year. Last year, she represented Nguyen Khuyen primary school as one of the city exemplary students.
