Da Nang, October 18\u201319, 2025 \u2014 The Da Nang Youth Union<\/a>, in collaboration with UNICEF Viet Nam<\/a>, successfully organized two training sessions on \u201cSafe and Civilized Use of the Internet and Social Media\u201d for nearly 200 youth union officials, teachers, and young members working in wards, communes, and schools across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity is part of the \u201cChild-Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI) \u2013 Da Nang, 2023\u20132026<\/a>\u201d and the \u201cHealthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA<\/a>-II)\u201d project, funded by Fondation Botnar<\/a> and managed by Ecorys<\/a>. The initiative aims to enhance adolescents\u2019 digital literacy and promote safe and responsible online behavior, contributing to a safer, healthier learning and living environment that supports young people\u2019s mental well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the participation of technology experts from VNPT Da Nang<\/a> and VNPT Cyber Immunity<\/a>, the training provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on exercises on identifying fake news, protecting personal data, preventing online bullying and exploitation, and fostering respectful and positive online interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Phuong, Deputy Head of the Youth and Adolescent Affairs Committee \u2013 Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City: \u201cThe digital space offers many opportunities for learning and creativity, yet it also poses risks. Equipping young people with safe and responsible digital skills is a key factor in helping them grow into resilient and compassionate individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program not only strengthened the capacity of educators, youth union officers, and young members but also encouraged adolescents\u2019 proactive participation in building safe and healthy learning environments \u2014 both online and offline. This represents a concrete step in Da Nang\u2019s journey to becoming a truly child- and adolescent-friendly city \u2014 a place where every child and young person is heard, protected, and empowered to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
