{"id":15870,"date":"2025-10-14T20:14:57","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T13:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/en\/?p=15870"},"modified":"2025-10-15T18:31:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T11:31:44","slug":"school-nutrition-capacity-building-workshop-in-da-nang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/en\/tin-tuc\/school-nutrition-capacity-building-workshop-in-da-nang\/","title":{"rendered":"School nutrition capacity-building workshop &#8211; For a generation of healthy confident, and thriving children in Da Nang"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Da Nang, October 14, 2025 \u2013 The Da Nang Center for Disease Control<strong> <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/ksbtdanang.vn\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CDC Da Nang<\/a>), in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org\/vietnam\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UNICEF Viet Nam<\/a>, successfully organized a capacity-building workshop on school nutrition counseling, assessment, management, and data monitoring<strong>, <\/strong>aiming to strengthen the prevention and control of overweight and obesity among school children in Da Nang<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This activity was implemented under the \u201cChild-Friendly City Initiative (CFCI) \u2013 Da Nang, 2023\u20132026\u201d and the \u201cHealthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA-II)\u201d project<strong>,<\/strong> funded by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationbotnar.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fondation Botnar<\/a> and managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecorys.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ecorys<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong> 24 Participants \u2013 Learning and Acting Together for Students\u2019 Health<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop brought together 24 participants<strong>,<\/strong> including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>19 school health and nutrition officers from 15 secondary schools under the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>05 specialized staff from CDC Da Nang<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These participants play a key role in implementing school nutrition initiatives and preventing childhood overweight and obesity &#8211; one of the city\u2019s top priorities in building a safe, healthy, and child-friendly learning environment<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/z7117938216416_2ea50e8f95f71a60e6cf61a534ee55e4-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"t\u1eadp hu\u1ea5n v\u1ec1 dinh d\u01b0\u1ee1ng h\u1ecdc \u0111\u01b0\u1eddng t\u1ea1i \u0110\u00e0 N\u1eb5ng\" class=\"wp-image-15897\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/z7117938216416_2ea50e8f95f71a60e6cf61a534ee55e4-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/z7117938216416_2ea50e8f95f71a60e6cf61a534ee55e4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/z7117938216416_2ea50e8f95f71a60e6cf61a534ee55e4-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hcadanang.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/z7117938216416_2ea50e8f95f71a60e6cf61a534ee55e4.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workshop Objectives:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The training was designed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthen skills in school nutrition counseling, assessment, and data management<strong>, <\/strong>enabling school health officers to detect and address early signs of overweight and obesity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss and align plans for implementing practical interventions at 15 participating secondary schools under the Child-Friendly City Initiative \u2013 Da Nang<strong>, <\/strong>with technical support from UNICEF Viet Nam<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the guidance of MSc.
