Children are playing at a UNICEF-supported newly renovated playground in Da Nang City as life normalcy is restoring in the coastal area. The playground, launched today and designed by children and adolescents aged 12-18 from a recent design contest entitled “Green Playground Inner City”, is a token answering the local children’s and adolescents’ call to have more public spaces and playgrounds in the city.

“Da Nang has already made great strides in promoting the participation of children and young people in providing solutions to urban challenges that affect their lives,” said Lesley Miller, UNICEF Viet Nam’s Deputy Representative attending the event. “I very much hope that such playgrounds will be scaled up across the whole city to provide easily accessible green and clean spaces for every child, especially the most vulnerable.”
