Introducing Van Thy: U-Invent 6’s Inspiring Second Place Winner!

Van Thy is a high school student passionate of digital innovation and STEM. Engaging in the 𝐔-𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟔 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, a dynamic forum co-crafted by UNICEF Viet Nam, VNUK- Executive (Da Nang University), and Da Nang Youth Union, Thy has joined forces with other visionary youths to confront pressing societal issues head-on.
Through her active participation, Thy not only showcases the remarkable prowess of 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 but also underscores their transformative ability to nurture a world that is more inclusive and interconnected.

DA NANG, June 2021 – Tired of online learning? Need a reminder to keep you from falling asleep? No worries. A group of 16-year-old high school students from the central city of Da Nang will give you the solution with their latest application using artificial intelligence (AI).
In 2021, the HCA program is launching the “My Street” Campaign to capture young people’s observations, experiences and perspectives as they lived through lock downs, social distancing, online schooling, and no play during the pandemic in 2020. Our virtual microphone will visit different urban environments and capture young people’s voices, asking them how their street changed and city transformed during Covid-19, and in some cases how their city did not change and a street remained the same. A lack of change, due to an absence of city regulation or insufficient community adherence to safety protocols, impacted wellbeing in different but equally notable ways.
Vo Van Nguyen, an 11th grade female student from Phan Chau Trinh High School in Da Nang City, recently took part in the World Cities Day Webinar with adolescents from five other countries around the world on Oct 31. The virtual event was hosted by Fondation Botnar – funder of the Healthy City for Adolescents initiative in multiple countries, including Da Nang – Vietnam.
