After more than 1 month, the programming competition for young talents in Da Nang Youth On! Hackathon 2024 officially ended on August 25 with different emotions.

Youth On! Hackathon is an activity in the Healthy City for Adolescents – Phase 2 project, organized by UNICEF Vietnam in collaboration with the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), Danang University. The competition encouraged the creativity and breakthrough thinking in the field of technology in the digital era 4.0 of students from 12 to 19 years old. Following the success of the two previous seasons 2021 and 2023, Youth-On! Hackathon season 3 acted as a launching pad for young people to freely develop their abilities, passion for programming and to develop technology projects that positively impact the community.

With the theme “Smart learning in the AI ​​era”, students have come up with many technological solutions, freely creating on all platforms: web/app/IOT. The competition has attracted nearly 100 students from secondary schools, high schools and first-year students of universities in Da Nang city.

After fierce qualifying rounds, 30 contestants from the 7 best teams went to the final round. For final results, the first prize went to the project “Device to support spatial description for the visually impaired“, the second prize went to the project “Software to support learning sign language“, the third prize went to the project “Friendly Learning Tools“.

Through the competition, students developed programming skills, gained knowledge and experience in creating innovative technology solutions to support the community. The competition connected students with same passion, with the support of mentors. Besides, it promoted the movement of self-study, creative research; career orientation for students in order to meet the increasing demand of the human resource market in the digital transformation.
